I build systems in Rust and ship them to production — then I operate them. Nineteen years, five products, and the infrastructure underneath them.

Consulting

What I take on

  1. 01

    Technical training and course design

Corporate training and course design across Rust, Kotlin, Python, TypeScript, cloud, security, data and networking. I write the material, teach it, and keep it current — the same body of work I teach at Higher VET level.

    Academy — 1,364 pages across 21 domains

  2. 02

    Systems and backend engineering

Rust services and the infrastructure under them: APIs, data layers, replication, TLS, zero-downtime deploys and observability. Architecture through to the machine it runs on.

Hive — serving infrastructure behind five products

  3. 03

    Mobile and cross-platform

Android and Kotlin Multiplatform applications, including Android Auto, built offline-first and shipped to Google Play.

    Drive and Alma, in production

  4. 04

    AI inside real products

LLMs integrated where they earn their place — product features, automation and developer tooling that survive contact with production rather than stopping at a demo.

Academy

Rust · Dioxus · WebAssembly

A public technical school: 1,364 pages across Rust, Kotlin, Python, TypeScript, AI, cloud, security, data, networking and Linux. The front end is a Dioxus application compiled to WebAssembly.

  • Broker

    Rust · real-time

An autonomous intraday auto-trader you can watch think. A self-governing decide-and-execute loop runs the markets while a strictly read-only console explains every position, fill and risk decision in plain language.

  • Drive

Kotlin · Android Auto · Rust core

An offline-first driving companion warning about speed cameras, red lights and live traffic in real time, with fuel prices, maps and turn-by-turn navigation — on the phone and on the car head unit, no account required.

  • Alma

    Kotlin · Rust core · end-to-end encryption

A caring app for older adults and people with dementia: a simplified large-type launcher with calls, an SOS button, shared photos and easy-read news. End-to-end encrypted, peer-to-peer video, nothing stored on our servers.

  • Hive

    Rust · infrastructure

The serving layer under everything above — zero-downtime deploys, in-process TLS, per-VM hardening and a tier-aware DoS stack. Built so five products stay online without a platform team.

Closed source

What the private code does

The bulk of the work above lives in private repositories. It is not a portfolio you can clone, so here is the shape of it — available to walk through in detail on a call.

Serving infrastructure
Zero-downtime deployment, in-process TLS, per-VM hardening, tier-aware rate limiting, and a host agent that rolls fleets forward without dropping a request.
Storage and replication
SQLite-engine work and replication tooling, plus object-storage transport and a cloud control plane for provisioning the machines underneath.
Auth and shared layers
OAuth for Axum services and matching Dioxus UI components, factored into shared crates consumed by every product in the fleet.
Developer tooling
A local CI/CD runner, VM and cloud provisioning, and command-runner tooling — several pieces published to PyPI as installable packages.

Background

On the record

  1. 2007 – now

    Software engineer · Optersoft

Nineteen years shipping production software end to end — architecture, code, cloud and operation — as technical lead and as the individual contributor who writes it.

  2. 2021 – now

Instructor, Higher VET · Institut Provençana

Higher VET programmes in web development, bioinformatics, cross-platform development and systems administration.

  3. 2000 – 2006

Computer Engineering · FIB — UPC · BarcelonaTech

Six-year engineering degree: algorithms, databases, operating systems, architecture and networks, compilers and formal languages, artificial intelligence and graphics. EQF 7, 375 credits.

  4. 1992 – 2000

Licentiate in Psychology · University of Barcelona

A second EQF 7 degree, 300 credits, built on psychometrics and experimental design. It is why the products are tested on the people who use them — and it carries the qualification to teach.
